Masters Lose Close Last16 Game

Having made it to the "Round of 16", LHC Masters (over 40s) lost a tight game at Beeston, but only after going to penalties following a 2 -2 draw.
A strong Beeston team had prolonged spells of possession, Leicester swift and dangerous on the attack. Adam opened the scoring for Leicester, but Beston drew level a couple of minutes before half-time. Leicester took the lead again through PaulL but Beeston threw everything forward and equalised in the final minutes. Cup competitions go straight to penalties and Beeston won the toss to take the first stroke, which pinged back of the post, whilst Leicester scored B0/L1 Both second strokes were saved and both third stokes were converted making it B1/L2. Beeston pulled it level on the 4th stroke, whilst the Leicester stroke was saved B2/L2. In a nail-biting end, Beeston went ahead for the first time in the game as their fifth stroke was converted and then it was Leicester's turn to have one ping back off the post - final score B3/L2.
For a much smaller club (Leicester run 4 men's teams and Beeston run 10 men's teams), it was a valiant effort and an exciting game to watch.
