Posted by LHC Web on 5 September 2020
To help club players, umpires, parents and spectators, here is some condensed advice based on EH Covid-19 Club Support
All participants to have completed Player Agreement
Access & Travel
- Travel on your own or in your bubble.
- Arrive as close as possible to the time you need to be there.
- Arrive changed and ready to play.
- Check in with your organiser for Track and Trace purposes.
- Allow others to leave before you enter the pitch - if you need to wait, do so away from the pitch and clear of gates.
- Ensure you leave the pitch before the end of your allotted time so that the space is empty for the next players.
- Shower at home.
- Follow the facility rules when accessing indoor spaces such as hospitality or toilets.
Playing hockey
- Outside of playing area; subs and coaches socially distance.
- Clean your hands during breaks.
- Respect your opposition and umpires.
- Take Penalty Corners and free hits around the D promptly (umpires are encouraged to restart play promptly)
- If the clock is stopped for treating injuries, retrieving of ball from outside of the playing area, etc, then all individuals maintain Social Distancing until the game can recommence.
- Avoid shouting excessively or spitting.
- A 2-minute suspension (Green Card) will be issued to any player or participant caught spitting or nose blowing without a handkerchief or tissue. Areas should be cleaned by the offending player before play can continue.
- Touch the ball with your stick/GK equipment and not your hands.
- Use your own protective equipment (e.g. facemasks). Avoid regular removal of your gum shield.
- Socially distance when play stops. No handshakes with other players or close contact during goal celebrations.
